Youth Ministries

“The name Break Free reflects our desire to help students experience the freedom Jesus offers — freedom from sin, fear, shame, and pressure. Our theme verse, Matthew 11:28, reminds us that freedom begins when students come to Jesus and find rest in Him. Everything we teach will stay rooted in Scripture and centered on Christ.”

Vision Statement: Break Free Youth Group exists to help students encounter Jesus through Scripture, grow in authentic faith, and experience the freedom and rest found in following Him.

Meet the Leaders

Hi my name is Hua Ming Newman, and I am the Youth Pastor of youth group. I have been involved in youth group for about eight years now. Graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BA in Youth Ministry. As for work I am a School Bus Driver at the Gar-Pal School District. I also work here at Palouse Federated Church as Director of Youth/Children’s Ministries as well as Head of Technology. Lastly I am a volunteer Firefighter/EMT for Palouse and an instructor for CPR, AED, First aid, and QPR. In my free time I love to play Ice Hockey as well as playing Video Games. My favorite bible verse is Romans 12:21. I am beyond great full for the opportunity to work with your students. If you ever have any questions or want to chat you can always reach out.

Hi! My name is Rebekah and I’m a student leader. I’ve been going to youth group for around three years. I’m a student at GPHS. I love Jesus and dancing. My favorite is ballet, but I also take other styles too. I am so glad I’m able to fit youth group into my week. It’s definitely worth it. One of my favorite bible verses is Psalms 46:10.
