Palouse Federated Church is an interdenominational Christian church born out of the coming together of the Methodist, Baptist and Presbyterian churches of Palouse, WA. Respect for people from other Christian traditions has been a hallmark of our community since our founding and remains an important part of who we are today. At Palouse Federated Church, you will find diversity and respect coupled with the hospitality and kindness of our small town.

Our Mission:  Depending on Jesus to Restore our [Imperfect] Lives

We all struggle with imperfection. God’s story, our story, is one of restoration. We desire for our imperfect lives to be made whole again and God’s deepest desire is to restore us. At Palouse Federated Church we invite you to come as you are. We offer a safe place where you can start or continue your journey of restoration.

Please Welcome our Interim Pastor Rick Church and his wife Marilou

It is an honor to be invited to assist you, Palouse Federated Church, as you celebrate and reflect on the past, focus on the Mission of Christ, and get ready to move into the future with hope and grace. I will do my best to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of Christ, provide interim pastoral support to you, the congregation, and with you, reach out with Christ’s invitation to others to come follow Him.

I have served as pastor for 25 years in California, Kansas, Illinois and Washington and 15 years as a board certified hospital and hospice chaplain for Providence Hospice of Seattle, a position I retired from in March.  My wife Marilou will be joining me here as I serve in this role. Marilou also retired in March as the Director of Hospice, Palliative Care and Home Health for the Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Wa. and after a long career as a nurse and in healthcare leadership.

I earned a degree in communication with a specialization in journalism, a minor in religious studies, and a Master of Divinity degree in Christian theology. I love the Lord and His Church, and want to contribute to the building up the body of Christ. My favorite New Testament person is Barnabus because wherever he is mentioned it is recorded how he encouraged others and encouraged the New Testament church in all he did. I want to be like Barnabus. I am looking forward to joining you in your mission for this interim time.
